Stopped there while we were down this October to watch our Lions play. They accommodated us with the game on one of their tvs, the waiter was so kind, we ordered some apps and drinks and then got into some dinner afterward. The food was pretty decent and the atmosphere was comfortable. Some of the locals were salty that we beat the Panthers this season but what can we say? Go Lions!

Great food with a solid menu that has tons of options on it for all sorts of people. top notch service and very clean bathrooms. Couldnt ask for more at a restaurant. I absolutely recommend Mavericks point to anybody that is local or that is visiting for the weekend. A++

We just had the most wonderful meal. We started with the mozzarella sticks and boom boom shrimp. The shrimp were big, fresh, crispy and the sauce was the perfect blend of spicy. For dinner our girls had chicken tenders and fries and a grilled cheese which were plentiful and they loved. The teriyaki wings were tangy, with a crispy skin, tender chicken and loaded with meat. The burger was actual cooked the way I requested it as medium rare and juicy. The house margarita hit the spot just right as well as the Bahama Mamma. The atmosphere was relaxed, fun and friendly. Service was exceptional. Whole place got singing together at one point. Such fun!

Stopped by before going to a Turtle hatchling event. Got to watch the football game which was a plus. A bacon burger will set you back about $13 bucks came with fries (OH AND A LITTLE PIECE OF BEACON LOL ) which is not bad for the times we are living in. 1-10 on the burger I would say a 7 1/2. Waitress was on point & super nice. Which is hard to find nowadays. Would I recommend yes. If you are bougie this is not the place for you. More laid back comfortable atmosphere.

McKenna was an amazing waitress. I came for 4th of July and she was absolutely outstanding in her service! From the moment I stepped into Mavericks in Sunset Beach, McKenna's warm and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. The 4th of July rush didn't seem to faze her at all; she was poised and attentive, ensuring that every guest received the attention they deserved. She made sure I got my food quickly and efficiently, and even talked to me on a personal basis. McKenna is amazing!

We have stopped here many times on our way home from the beach. Our whole family loves this place. The burgers are delicious and our server Miss Hilda is amazing.

This place hit the spot for us. We didn't know the area well, and took a shot as we were driving back to Myrtle Beach to catch a flight. The food was really good - I had the crab cake - and we were well taken care of by the staff. My boys enjoyed the kids' sliders, and my wife was impressed with the salad with grilled chicken. For a beachy bar and grill, this place nails it.

Stopped in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon to watch football and get a bite to eat. They had 5 different games on the 5 televisions. Was easy to catch them all from where I was sitting. Loaded nachos were pretty good but the burger was excellent. Meat was done just right and the bun was very tasty. Potato salad offering as a side was pretty tasty as well. While the server/bartenders were busy, they were also friendly and prompt.

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, my family had a late dinner at Maverick's Pointe. There were 7 of us. Our order was 3 Makin the Bacon Cheeseburger, one The Philly with no bun, one Wicked Wings with BBQ, and one fried cod. We were all very pleased with our meals. The fries were fabulous! I ordered The Philly with no bun because I am allergic to wheat. The waitress was happy to accommodate my request. We enjoyed the music as well played by two fellows with guitars. I will definitely eat at this restaurant again.

This place is great. Sit at the bar. Food is solid, pizza is yummy and the beer selection is fantastic. Beau and Connie are the best and all of the staff is great.

Live music can be fantastic but loud. The bar is arranged to increase conversation (see photo). Very popular with locals. Meet them at the bar seats.

The fried pickles were out of this world! Chili cheese fries were delicious and an absolute huge portion which is great! Service was excellent and perfect place for a quick but savory bite. Would highly recommend!

We spent two days looking for a cool place to go in Sunset/Ocean Isle and landed here RIGHT before heading out of town, unfortunately. We should have started (and ended) the whole weekend here! I had the honey hot chicken wings and she had the The Pointe burger, both were excellent. Plenty of parking, a laid back casual atmosphere and good for families. Great prices on food and drink and a cozy outdoor seating area. If you're lucky, you'll get Bo as your bartender, he makes a mean Bloody Mary. We were only there during lunch hours, so I'm looking forward to the next trip when we can check out the live music and evening crowd.

So good the chicken tenders were so soft they were fresh the bacon burger was good to nice outside very clean the salad was great and fresh great service server was nice the people were fast trip from Charlotte we here heading to the beach and we thought we would stop by here and try this place ????????

Come here often, the bands just keep getting better, the staff is world class friendly, the beer is ice cold and the food is always fresh .. great atmosphere for friends or family. A classic beach hangout here in Sunset Beach! Outdoor patio, plenty of bar seating and lots of tables, if you're visiting our local beach pub, remember here on the coast we live on beach time, laid back and a little slower than the pace of a big city..

We were looking for a good burger and place to chill for a little bit, and local business owner suggested this place. Great call!! Ice cold beverages, and the burgers and chips were fantastic. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent. So, a great beach stop restaurant / sports bar that I would highly recommend. That is unless you're more accustomed to, and prefer a pampering overpriced fern bar fu fu restaurant.

I can honestly say the margarita I had there was by far the best I’ve had anywhere. The drink not only tasted perfect but then it was served in a nice big glass not a plastic cup! The fried pickles were hot and tasty.

Marick's Pointe is the place In Sunset Beach.Everytine i go there i meet new people and have some great conversations.They have Karaoke and DJ on Wed night the KJ is Lisa Snow she has been on the beach for quite a while. Her sound system is great she knows how to make you a star.There is music others night also.

Warm welcoming fun atmosphere with great food! The staff here are so friendly and attentive. The live music is terrific. Great place to gather or just go watch some games. We’ll defiantly be frequent flyers here!

What a great place! We were there on a Friday nite. They had a solo guy band that nite who was awesome! Hope he comes back, we sure will! The food and service were great too!

Just had a wonderful evening at Mavericks Point. Took them up on the pizza special. The pizza was excellent, the staff was wonderful as always, and the live music was superb.

Clean and cheerful. Had the Philly burger which was delicious with hot. good fries. Would recommend for casual dinning.

Nice local night spot. Older easy going crowd. Live band tonight. Ask Connie for her special 'girly drink' and she will bring you this laser blue tequila whistle wetter.

Best beer selection in the area with 14 taps including Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold and a few NC brews. Burgers are great and the service at the bar is too. Menu is limited however. Popular with locals.

Excellent restaurant for burgers and other lunch fair. Reasonably priced. Good service from the bartender. Orders are very nice and pleasant.

Service was good drinks served cold and promptly. Atmosphere was good but no ac and was extremely hot.

Awesome food, friendly people, this is my pick for the best burger at the beach, they also have live music on Fridays and Saturday night, I would recommend this as being the best place to relax and enjoy good food

Dont judge a book by its cover. Little rough in appearance on the outside but the inside was excellent.. the food was even better than excellent and the service was outstanding!

I think it's a great place. They have a few TVs for sports watchers and live music to provide a very present atmosphere. The beer selection is about 50-50 craft beers and non. The menu has less seafood options than most other dining establishments in the area. Don't get me wrong, I love seafood, but it's just as nice to have a place to get wings or a burger and cold beer. They do seem a little under staffed, but don't let that stop you from checking it out.

We've had food & drinks here several times in the past year as well as this week and never experienced any problems. The food is typical bar food but the burgers and chicken sandwiches are pretty good.
We will definitely return again .

Being a local it is nice that this location has been reopened. The food is delicious and the wait staff although busy is very friendly. We try to go once a week. Love having this place so close to home.

This is my new favorite place in Sunset Beach! It has a great local feel and the service is fantastic. The bar had a good selection of beers to chose from and the food was awesome! The wings were fantastic and had a good heat to them. The burgers were all cooked perfectly and were delicious. My family and I have several food allergies and the servers were very understanding.

Fabulous local beer and burger joint. There is always a friendly staff and nice atmosphere with warm welcoming and great food! Most food consists of burgers, tacos and fries with some salads and great salsa and chips. Local live music several nights each week make this local watering hole the spot to visit in Sunset Beach!

Very comfortable place. Very friendly staff. They made my burger just the way I like it - paleo - no bread or fries and sub a side side. Great live music, which is a nice addition to have in the area and not have to drive to NMB to hear some.
